SHFBAC is committed to making an impact on the lives of the people in the community we serve. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our Program, Planning and Development Committee, the Adopt-A-Child Impact Night, Briargate Gardening Projects and DePelchin Valentine Craft Day are some of our most impactful and rewarding initiatives.

SHFBAC helped to make Christmas a little merrier for the children of the Stafford Boys & Girls Club this year. Through partnership with the B&G Club director and the generosity of SHFBA Chapter members, we distributed gifts to kids – ages 1 to 16 years old.

Our partnership with Briargate Elementary School began in the spring of 2009, when SHFBAC, the Theta Chi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. & the Briargate Garden Club transformed the Briargate Garden into the National Wildlife Federation Certified Wildlife Habitat that it is today! That partnership has evolved into a lasting relationship that continues today. The Chapter now hosts two projects each year – one in the Fall and one in the Spring.

SHFBAC is proud to contribute to the education of our children and there’s no better time than now to plant the seeds of caring for our environment in their young minds. The Gardening Project helps to teach children lessons that they can carry with them for a lifetime & will hopefully pass on to the next generation.

Each year, SHFBAC hosts a Valentine Craft Day at the DePelchin Children’s Residential Center in Richmond, TX. The children and Chapter members put together Valentine-themed crafts, eat Valentine goodies and enjoy various forms of entertainment which have included karaoke and group Wii games. Residents are given gift bags to commemorate the event, so that they continue to feel the Delta love long after the day is over.

As a not-for-profit organization, DePelchin has been making a difference in the lives of children and families for more than 120 years by providing a full continuum of care, including psychiatric services, counseling, residential treatment, programs for at-risk youths, parent education, foster care and adoption.

The SHFBAC Program Planning and Development Committee (PPD) is charged with implementing activities that support the Sorority’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust.  These projects allow us to truly make an impact on the communities in which we live.
