“Retrieving the past to construct the present and design the future”

Welcome to the official site of Suburban Houston-Fort Bend Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.  SHFBAC was chartered in 1996 when 12 courageous, determined, driven and focused Sorors blazed a trail to establish a new service area which covered Missouri City and Fort Bend County.  It is truly an honor and privilege to serve as the Chapter President of SHFBAC for the 2016-2018 biennium.

For the past 40 years, the members of Suburban Houston-Fort Bend Alumnae Chapter have demonstrated their commitment to serving the Suburban Houston, Missouri City and Fort Bend County area and carrying out Delta’s Five Point Program Thrust to impact our communities.  The sorority’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust:

  • Economic Development
  • Educational Development
  • International Awareness and Involvement
  • Physical and Mental Health
  • Political Awareness and Involvement

Annually, our chapter awards academic scholarships, artistic achievements awards to elementary, middle and high school students; participates in voter education programs, health programs, domestic violence awareness and international aid programs.  We conduct programs that ensure both the educational and social development of our youth through the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy (young females, ages 11-13), Dr. Jeanne Noble Delta Gems (adolescent females, ages 14-18), and E.M.B.O.D.I. (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence, males grades 11-18).

If you are a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and are looking for a chapter, SHFBAC is a great place to call home!  Please join us for chapter meeting on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 10:00 a.m. at Houston Community College-Stafford, 1004 Cash Road, Stafford, Texas.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and learn more about our organization.  We hope that you find our site useful and you will visit often for the latest updates on programs, events and activities.  Please contact us if you would like more information about our chapter.
